Reiki Healing
The founding father of Reiki (ray'-key) is Mikao Usui, who discovered this healing art in Japan in the late 1800's. To break down the word in Japanese, Rei is translated as "spiritually guided" or "wisdom of God," and Ki equates to "life force energy." Modern day translations include "universal life force energy" or "universal love energy."
I have been attuned in Naturopathic and Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki and I use a combination of both techniques that involves channeling energy into the patient through touch or by placing hands near the body. The goal is to activate the natural healing processes of the patient's body and restore physical and emotional well-being. Reiki is based on the idea that an unseen life force energy flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. When this energy is low, we are more likely to get sick or feel stressed, and when it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. Reiki a gentle, yet powerful restorer of balance to promote healing in the mind, body, and spirit, tapping into this multi-faceted energy helps the practitioner understand what it is to be "One with all Creation."
Anecdotal reports state that Reiki can accelerate healing, assist the body in cleansing toxins, help awaken the "healer within", help open the 3rd eye intuitive abilities, help heal relationships, assist in elevating our communications with others to the "higher self' level, discern the appropriate next step on our spiritual path, enhance creativity and assist in aligning you with your Divine Purpose
